OUR STORY

Raciónamento is a Filipino-made collection of handcrafted wicker bags and thoughtful, small-batch pieces for everyday life. Rooted in tradition and shaped by design, each item is crafted by skilled artisans using locally sourced natural materials and time-honored techniques.

Our signature steel-framed wicker bags reflect our commitment to form, function, and lasting quality. Each piece is made to be loved, used, and cherished for years. We work slowly and mindfully to create pieces that honor our heritage while embracing sustainability and thoughtful design.

Raciónamento is more than just a brand—it’s a legacy built to last.

Crafting a Legacy

Minda started her business in the 1980s in her hometown of Muntinlupa City, working with local artisans to craft furniture and home goods from natural materials like rattan and bamboo. What started as a humble pursuit quietly grew into something lasting—timeless, well-made pieces that found their way into homes and spaces across the country and beyond.

She built her reputation through consistency and reliability, earning the trust of those who valued craftsmanship over show. Her work wasn’t about making a name; it was about making things well.

Tradition, Reimagined

Joanna grew up in her grandmother's home, spending countless hours in the living room that doubled as a workshop. She would sit cross-legged on the floor, tying yantok rings into bundles with twine while the rich scent of rattan filled the air. These early memories of helping Minda with her business instilled in her a deep respect for the craft and the people behind it. These small moments shaped her appreciation for the artistry that goes into creating something truly meaningful by hand.

Four decades after Minda started her business, an oversized flower basket from her collection caught Joanna’s eye, particularly for its unique shape. She envisioned it as a much smaller handbag, and she turned to the same artisans who had worked with Minda to turn her vision into reality. From that spark of inspiration, Raciónamento came to life.

Raciónamento is the continuation of a legacy that blends traditional handweaving techniques with thoughtful design. Crafted with care and built to last, each piece is both a tribute to where we come from and a reflection of what we carry forward.
